Pre-Teen Girls Are Such A Joy!

Posted on by Patricia Leever

Greetings my sparkly little love monkeys!

Did you detect a note of sarcasm in today’s blog title? Cause I gotta say, there is SOOOO much sarcasm in that title I’m surprised it didn’t leap off of the screen and slap you across the face with sarcasm.

For those of you out there that do not have the she demons that are pre-teen girls, let me enlighten you. It’s like living with a live grenade, or in my case two live grenades. Now, these just aren’t regular live grenades, these are grenades that are highly unstable and leaking explosive juice. These could go off at any given moment because, for example; the sky is blue, the grass is green or the fact that mammals convert oxygen into carbon dioxide, in other words for no reason what-so-ever!

Mind you, my two older spawns are boys, so the only experience I have with dealing with pre-teen girls was being one myself eleventy billion years ago, but I do vaguely remember bursting into tears for no reason so I have a modicum of sympathy for my girls and what their hormone filled bodies are going through right now.

But the men folk in our house are completely stumped. Our middle son, bless his heart, recently expressed concern for his sisters and wondered if counseling would help. I told him what was going on with them and that it was normal, as abnormal as it seems. After that our conversation went a bit like this…

Ryan: “How long does it last?”
Me: “Until they hit menopause.”
Ryan: “When is that?”
Me: “When they’re 50 or so, but it’s going to get worse before it gets better.”
Ryan: “WHAT?!?”

Yeah, poor dude.

Anyway, my babies are growing up and I’m not thrilled about it. They have reached that age that mom is embarrassing and the only good think about that is that it is so much fun to embarrass one’s own children. They’ll appreciate it later in life.

After hours and hours of therapy 😉

Well, that’s all I have today, I just had to get that off my chest and now I feel tons better sharing my woes with my awesome little love monkeys! Don’t forget that today is Author! Author! Blog Bounce! day and check out who’s blogging along with me…

Oh crap, I didn’t post a photo of something bouncing! Hang on…

There, zombies on hippity hops because it makes me smile 🙂

Stay tuned for more blog fun!

Until next time,

Patty <3

Sunday Six!

Posted on by Patricia Leever

Salutations my superbly awesome love monkeys!

It’s Sunday, and you know what that means…are you ready for this week’s Six Sentence Sunday? Brought to you by the lovely ladies at Six Sentence Sunday!

You know the rules, right?

via Six Sentence Sunday FAQ page:

Pick six (6) sentences from anything you like (it can be from a Work in Progress (WiP), something you recently sold, something you hope to sell or even something already under contract and available for purchase – and don’t worry, Six Sentence Sunday is for published AND unpublished writers). Then post them on your blog on Sunday. That’s all there is to it!

Keep in mind what I’m going to give you IS signed with Ominfic Publishing but I’m still working with my awesome editors, which makes this technically WiP because when something is in editing, you just don’t know what is going to stay and what is going to have to go or be tweaked.

So, without further ado, here is this week’s Six Sentences! Enjoy!

~~~
A series of tinkling bells announced my arrival as I opened the door.
“I’ll be right there,” a vaguely female voice called from the back office, and I heard the very distinct plop of slimy troll feet hitting linoleum as the creature made its way to the front of the shop where I was. I knew to the untrained ear it sounded like the normal canter of human footfall, but I’d always had the ability to see what others couldn’t or wouldn’t see. That’s one of the reasons why I did this. One can’t deny one’s natural, God-given talent.
“Hi, what can I do for you today?”
~~~

You like? I sure as heck hope so! Be sure to stick around for next week when I will tell you a so more about Divinity.

Have a happy and safe Memorial Day my darlings and stay tuned!

Until next time,

Patty <3

Upcoming Release, Divinity!

Posted on by Patricia Leever

Greetings my faithful little love monkeys!

Well, I realized that it has been forever and nine days since I’d posted anything in the “News” section on my front page which made me totally do this…

So, I figured what better thing to add to my “News” section than my upcoming novel with Omnific Publishing, Divinity. What is Divinity you ask? Well, here is the “back cover” blurb for you to peruse…

~~~
Demons.
They’re everywhere, hiding in plain sight. Chances are, you’ve interacted with one or two of them in your lifetime without even realizing it…
Demon hunter Evelyn Brighton saves unsuspecting humans from the malevolent creatures masquerading around them every day. Working under the Lebriga Corporation’s direction, she never fails to bring her A-game with her keen skill, fiercely independent spirit, and the best weapon in her arsenal: the Divinity blade.
Evelyn’s world is turned on its ear, however, when she is ordered to train cocky new recruit Daniel Summers. They both feel an instinctive pull drawing them to one another, the ancient spells tattooed into their skin illuminating whenever the two hunters come into contact. But with evil looming over the city of Los Angeles, Evelyn and Daniel’s mutual competitiveness and sense of duty to Lebriga and all humankind forces them to hold back their desires. Will their restraint be enough to keep them focused and save southern California, or will the dark forces prevail?
Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Divinity is an action-filled, fast-paced marriage of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Edgy, witty, and sexy, it will bind you in its spell.
~~~

Are you intrigued? I’m super mega ultra excited for this book and I can’t wait for you all to see it! But you are going to have to wait until September 25th, so mark your calendars!

Oh! And Divinity has its own little page over on Goodreads! What? We aren’t Goodreads friends? Hit me up with a friend request and let’s fix that issue! You can also head over and “like” my author’s page on Facebook and hit my personal Facebook page as well! I LOVE new friends and I love hearing from you guys!

Anyhoodle, stay tuned to my blog for updates and fun times!

Until next time,

Patty <3

This selection gives you  a bit on one of the demons Miss Evie is getting ready to battle.

~~~
Today I was in a rundown, nasty motel in the shittiest part of Los Angeles, preparing for the next assignment: a Moriscon demon, a particularly slimy breed that prided itself on the art of manipulation. They were used-car salesmen, talent scouts, and the like. Back in the day, they traveled from town to town peddling tonics and elixirs and inevitably running off with the pretty young farm girl who was never to be heard from again. They were smooth talkers, song-and-dance men.
Moriscon usually worked with two or three lesser creatures, generally trolls because they were easy to control and to disguise, not unlike the demons themselves.
This demon in particular had a photography studio with pictures of well-known young actresses displayed in the window, two goons on staff, and a penchant for naïve, straight-off-the-bus-from-Kansas, nubile young girls.
~~~

And there you have it, six sentences of my upcoming novel with Omnific Publishing, Divinity!

Have a great Sunday and week and stay tuned for more blog happy fun times!

Until next time,

Patty <3

Sunday Six~Let’s Try This AGAIN!

Posted on by Patricia Leever

Salutations my super duper love monkeys!

Love and hugs to all the Mamas out there, and yes, that includes those with furry children because you are their mamas!

So, I tried posting this one last week and once again went over my bandwidth and everything crashed. Well, have no fear, my webmaster extraordinaire, Mr. Chris “Grand Master Awesomesauce” Shiner, has hooked me and my little website up with a brand new hosting site with UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH!!! Yeah baby!! A round of applause for the man with the skillz!

Now, are you ready for this week’s Six Sentence Sunday? Brought to you by the lovely ladies at Six Sentence Sunday!

You know the rules, right?

via Six Sentence Sunday FAQ page:

Pick six (6) sentences from anything you like (it can be from a Work in Progress (WiP), something you recently sold, something you hope to sell or even something already under contract and available for purchase – and don’t worry, Six Sentence Sunday is for published AND unpublished writers). It’s the nature of the beast and to be honest, I love the editing process. Now, without further ado, how about a little of that Divinity magic! Work that spell Evie!

~~~
I said this three times and touched the candle to the powder with a quick flash of blue light and a puff of purple smoke.
Now for the weird part.
I closed my eyes and felt my skin tingle as the magic settled in and covered my exposed flesh. Slowly lifting one lid, I peeked at myself in the mirror and was taken aback by what stared back at me. I looked like I was fifteen, if that. I almost lost my lunch when I thought about all the young girls who it was too late for.
~~~

That’s right, when I said magic, I meant that literally! Divinity is filled with magical elements, including spells, potions and so much more but I can’t give it ALL away, now can I?

Speaking of giving things away, Omnific Publishing and lovely ladies at Bookish Temptations are having a giveaway! Lots and LOTS of ebooks and autographed SWAG! Make sure you check it out!

I mean just LOOK at that banner! Dadgum out Arts Department has got some serious skills! Give it up for the Arts Department!!

Okies my darlings, that’s all I have for you today, be good monkeys and stay tuned for more blog fun later in the week!

Until next time,

Patty <3

Happy Friday: Star Wars Day!

Posted on by Patricia Leever

Happy Friday my galactic little love monkeys! Did you attack this week like Luke Skywalker went after the Death Star? You are nerfherdling right you did!

Don’t you know what today is? That’s right, it’s May 4th, STAR WARS DAY!

Get it? May the 4th be with you and it’s May 4th. GET IT! I freaking LOVE it!

Why, cause it’s funny as heck and I love me some Star Wars! I mean, who doesn’t love Star Wars?  I mean seriously, dang near every person can recite at least one quote from the series, even if they don’t know it. Because sometimes you don’t know it, it just pops out of your mouth without even thinking.

So, I ask you, what is your favorite Star Wars quote? And who was your favorite character?

I’m a Han Solo girl to my core! Yeah, most girls my age were going apeshit over Luke but I liked Han. He was good looking AND funny and for me, the funny has always overshadowed the pretty, but if you get both in the same package, it’s a win/win.

And my favorite quote is from Han as well, you all know it, from Episode V, Empire Strikes Back.

“Laugh it up fuzzball.”

I love his exchanges with Chewy and if I had to pick a second favorite character from Star Wars, it would have to be Chewbacca. Which brings me to this photo I found on Facebook today..

I swear, I laughed so hard when I saw it, so of course I had to share it with y’all!

Okay my little rebel love monkeys, who was your favorite character and/or your favorite line from Star Wars? Have a great weekend, stay tuned for Six Sentence Sunday and..

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!!

Until next time,

Patty <3
